Winter Favorites Part 1: Coats and Jackets

Hello my lovely people. It’s time to prep your arsenal of outerwear for plunging temps.

I have been shopping in-stores and online since sometime for some eye catchy yet the essential outerwear. As you all might know by now, I am little far from minimalism, but I tried to be minimal this time. I know I know, lets jump in to the deets :-D

Selecting the perfect piece of outerwear is often an overwhelming task. I've had a lot of people tell me that coats are the hardest clothing items to shop for. They're tough for several reasons. The first is that there are so many out there, it's sometimes difficult to find the best coat for the best price . The second reason they are intimidating to shop for is because you know that once you purchase your Winter coat for the year, you're pretty much stuck with that same coat until next year. So you better pick a good one! Also the high price tags that are traditionally attached to quality coats and jackets, even the most fashion-forward women usually pick a single piece of outerwear and make it last for at least one season.

But a busy fashionista is likely to need more than one piece of outerwear to fit her multi-faceted lifestyle. Just as she logically wouldn’t wear a cocktail dress on a ski trip, she wouldn’t wear an athletic puffer coat to a job interview. While investing in dozens of coats and jackets is impractical, it is reasonable to assume that every woman should have few pieces of outerwear for the various occasions she encounters.

I've rounded up my top favorite picks for coats/jackets below. I tried to find the same ones as possible but unfortunately some of these coats are out of stock now. I will give you the sites where I bought these so that you can find similar styles.

Classic Wool Coat:

Everyone needs a classic wool coat. Timeless, elegant and versatile, this quintessential winter wardrobe staple is as perfect for layering atop your work-week suit as it is paired with casual weekend denim. Nothing pulls together an outfit like a timeless tailored coat. It's the perfect finishing touch and nobody needs to know if you’re wearing a suit or your pajama top underneath.

Statement Coat:

You know those days when you’re running around and end up spending more time in your coat than just wearing your actual clothing underneath? Those are the days for the statement coat. Pile on the dark/neutral cozy layers underneath and let your outerwear do the talking. A statement coat with prints is the updated version for this season.

Faux Fur Coat:

Faux fur is your friend and a great fashion asset! Not only is this cozy trend super stylish, but also get a furry friend stamp of approval. From the streets to runways, this trend has seen everywhere. Coming in all different patterns and styles, faux fur is the trend to rock the winter season. My absolute favorite way to showcase the winter trends is through faux fur coats.

Skater Coat:

A soft comfy coat that can go well with any outfit. A versatile, ever trendy and universal flattering. Fitted at the waist and flared out in to A-line silhouette, this classic coat comes in an endless array of fabrics, colors, patterns and solves any winter wardrobe dilemma.

Moto Jacket:

Trading classic for cool, the moto is the go-to jacket to throw on for less formal occasions. Whether you’re headed out to drinks or running errands on the weekend, there’s not much I love more than a classic moto, but if you read this post, you already know I’m really digging the updated colors and finishes that are stealing the stage this season.
